Patients also experienced a significantly lower risk of falling asleep and staying asleep during the night. These findings support the use of Seroquel in patients with bipolar disorder, and may have implications for patients on antidepressants.

The study’s findings have been published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine.

The authors note that Seroquel, when used in combination with other medications, may have a greater benefit in treating depression in patients with bipolar disorder.
